Het boek maakt daarvoor de vertaalslag vanuit de bestaande Anglo-Amerikaanse rechtsliteratuur, maar ook vanuit andere onderzoeksdomeinen. In vier verschillende onderdelen biedt het boek een methodologische toolbox voor wie feministische en queer onderzoeksmethoden in het recht wil toepassen. Een eerste deel van het boek schetst de oorsprong en ontwikkelingen van feministische en queer rechtsliteratuur en de hiermee vervlochten methoden. Vervolgens delen experten uit andere wetenschappelijke disciplines inzichten over feministisch en queer onderzoek in hun discipline. In het derde deel van het boek reflecteren onderzoekers van binnen en buiten de rechtswetenschap over de bijzondere methodologische uitdagingen en vraagstukken die zij hebben ervaren bij de toepassing van feministische en queer onderzoeksmethoden. Ten slotte leggen onderzoekers uit verschillende rechtsdomeinen uit hoe zij feministische en queer onderzoekmethoden toepassen in hun eigen onderzoek en tot welke bevindingen die onderzoeksmethode heeft geleid.   • 520a_Summary_ss: Feministisch en queer onderzoek is niet meer weg te denken uit de internationale rechtswetenschap. Onder impuls van de Anglo-Amerikaanse feminist legal theory en queer theory, hebben feministische en queer onderzoeksmethoden de laatste jaren ook in de continentaal-Europese rechtsliteratuur ingang gevonden. Ook in België kan deze rechtswetenschap op veel belangstelling rekenen. Ondanks groeiende interesse, blijft Nederlandstalig rechtswetenschappelijk onderzoek dat gebruik maakt van feministische of queer onderzoeksmethoden echter relatief schaars. Algemene naslagwerken in het Nederlands ontbreken geheel. Net die methodologische vraagstukken zijn echter cruciaal voor een gedegen en wetenschappelijk verantwoorde ontwikkeling van feministisch en queer rechtswetenschappelijk onderzoek. Dit boek wil dat hiaat vullen, door de methodologische denkkaders uit de feministische en queer rechtswetenschap toegankelijk te maken voor een Belgisch publiek en zo handvaten te bieden om de geijkte paden van de rechtswetenschap te verlaten. Het boek maakt daarvoor de vertaalslag vanuit de bestaande Anglo-Amerikaanse rechtsliteratuur, maar ook vanuit andere onderzoeksdomeinen. In vier verschillende onderdelen biedt het boek een methodologische toolbox voor wie feministische en queer onderzoeksmethoden in het recht wil toepassen. Een eerste deel van het boek schetst de oorsprong en ontwikkelingen van feministische en queer rechtsliteratuur en de hiermee vervlochten methoden. Vervolgens delen experten uit andere wetenschappelijke disciplines inzichten over feministisch en queer onderzoek in hun discipline. In het derde deel van het boek reflecteren onderzoekers van binnen en buiten de rechtswetenschap over de bijzondere methodologische uitdagingen en vraagstukken die zij hebben ervaren bij de toepassing van feministische en queer onderzoeksmethoden. Ten slotte leggen onderzoekers uit verschillende rechtsdomeinen uit hoe zij feministische en queer onderzoekmethoden toepassen in hun eigen onderzoek en tot welke bevindingen die onderzoeksmethode heeft geleid. Dit boek is inbegrepen in de studiedag 'Feministische en queer onderzoeksmethoden in het recht' (vrijdag 16 mei 2025, Universiteit Antwerpen (Stadscampus), Antwerpen).
