summary: Deze bewerking bevat de gezinsreconstructie van de dopen uit de parochieregisters van Antwerpen Onze-Lieve-Vrouw (cathedraal) voor de periode 1586 tot en met 1599. Hiervoor werd gebruik gemaakt van de akten die via de website van het Felixarchief te Antwerpen te downloaden zijn. Het betreft hier 14751 dopen in 6067 gezinnen in een periode van 14 jaar. Hierin komen ook 128 vondelingen voor die enkel een voornaam kregen. Vanaf 1615 werd deze parochie gesplitst in Antwerpen O-L-V –Noord en Antwerpen O-L-V-Zuid. De afbeeldingen van grafzerken en overlijdensdata werden ontleend uit de boeken “Graf-en Gedenkschriften van de Provincie Antwerpen“ deel 1 Antwerpse kathedraal, uitgave 1856. In deze bewerking werden de gezinnen alfabetisch gerangschikt volgens de stamvorm van de achternaam. Er werd dus geen rekening gehouden met de voorzetsels zoals “van” ; Van de”, “ver-“, “de”; “du” etc. bv: “van der AA” vindt U onder de letter A; “op de BEECK” en “verBEECK” onder de letter B enz. Soms werd de alfabetische rangschikking binnen een bepaalde naam niet gevolgd omwille van een betere bladschikking. Er werd getracht het gezin volledig op een bladzijde te krijgen om een beter overzicht te houden. Achteraan bevindt zich ook een alfabetische lijst op naam van de moeders, wat het opzoeken van bepaalde gezinnen kan vergemakkelijken. Vermits er veel dopen gebeurden van koppels die hun roots elders hadden kon de schrijfwijze van de namen nogal eens verschillen of op het gehoor genoteerd zijn.

In deze bewerking werden de gezinnen alfabetisch gerangschikt volgens de stamvorm van de achternaam. Er werd dus geen rekening gehouden met de voorzetsels zoals “van” ; Van de”, “ver-“, “de”; “du” etc. bv: “van der AA” vindt U onder de letter A; “op de BEECK” en “verBEECK” onder de letter B enz. Soms werd de alfabetische rangschikking binnen een bepaalde naam niet gevolgd omwille van een betere bladschikking. Er werd getracht het gezin volledig op een bladzijde te krijgen om een beter overzicht te houden. Achteraan bevindt zich ook een alfabetische lijst op naam van de moeders, wat het opzoeken van bepaalde gezinnen kan vergemakkelijken. Vermits er veel dopen gebeurden van koppels die hun roots elders hadden kon de schrijfwijze van de namen nogal eens verschillen of op het gehoor genoteerd zijn.
